    Montpellier

We started our visit in Montpellier in the Antigone neighbourhood. This area was established in the 1970’s by the architect Ricardo Bofill. His design with neo classical buildings, wide avenues and large squares  creates a relaxing and homogenous look with the historic centre.

In the historic centre, called Ecusson, you see one landmark after the other just by wandering around in the streets. The Opera (Place de la Comédienne), Cathedral St Pierre, Arc de Triomph, Promenade de Peyrou to name a few. Some of the sandstone buildings look so charmful that we heard a kid shouting look, a giant sand castle 🙂

The best way to visit Montpellier is by tram (line 1-blue). You park your car at Parking Place Occitanie and get a Park & Tram pass for only 4,90 €.
